冊子『秋田県の朝鮮人強制連行』の冒頭に置かれた序文にあたる野添さんの文章を紹介する。この序文が書かれたのは２０１５年５月。序文によると、この調査を進めた秋田県朝鮮人強制連行真相調査団の準備会が動き出して２０年になると記されている。１９９５年だから敗戦後５０年ということになる。調査は難航を極めた。すでに亡くなった関係者も多いだけでなく、「朝鮮人」といっただけで顔色が変わり、おびえたように家に入る人もいた。野添さんはそれをその心理を「戦時中に日本人の心に深くくい込んだ朝鮮人に対する差別」がまだいきいきと残っている」と描写している。そして「いまだに敗戦後になっておらず、戦争は今も続いている」と記す。そうだとすると前回前文に書いた群馬の慰霊碑撤去の行政代執行は公権力まで巻き込んだ差別の横行であり、この国は、よく言われる「新しい戦前」どころか、何も変わっていない、戦前のままががいまも続いていることになる。野添さんはこの序文の最後を「ぜひ現場を訪れて日本人の犯した事実を自分の目で確かめていただきたいと考えて本書をつくった。ぜひ小誌を利用して歩き、まず事実を知ってほしいと願っている。」という言葉で締めくくっている。（大野和興）
