Akihiro Awamura: We are the world!

America is wrong in taking reprisals against Afghanistan. I would like to tell you why I think so.

First, if America took reprisals against Afghanistan, many innocent people would be killed by bombs in vain. It will make us very sad. We want America president George.w.Bush not to commit genocide but to make a peaceful world ! Why did he choose attacking Afghanistan ? This is not a good way to solve this problem. It is the best way talking about peace between America and terrorists.

Second, if America continued the reprisals, the people who were made an air raid will have enmity against America and the enmity will rise in rebellion. If a rebellion rises up, more people will die or be injured. It's nonsense ! These reprisals must be killing many people in vain. It means these attacks are genocide. Therefore they should stop their attacks as soon as they can.

Finally, fighting has no meaning. Why do we fight ? We should talk to each other not fight when we are in such a situation as America, and many people will be happy ! It is time to make a wonderful world. So many countries must cooperate with other countries. It is the beginning of making a peaceful world together !

This is why I disagree with American reprisals against Afghanistan. I believe we can be one and make a peaceful world !

Kanae Aikawa

The terrorist attacks on World Trade Center and the Pentagon were terrible and I feel sorry for the victims and their families, however, I still don't know if it is right for Aamerica to attack Afghanistan.

Although there are many bad people, there are also many innocent people, too.I knoow some people were very pleased when the attacks occured, however, there are some people who hate terrorrism. I also feel if America doesn't do anything now, there will be more terrorism, howeveer, I don't think war will bring peace to both countries.

Tsubasa Ishida: Terrorist attacks

Tears welled up in my eyes when I saw the people shouting and crying. The buildings were collapsing and burning, and many people were running away from them. It was like a scene from a movie. I was just shocked and couldnÕ t recognize it was real. I was very sad and couldnÕt mourn too much for the deaths of the people on the planes, people in the World Trade Center, and firemen.

Many people were killed and people who lost their family or friends were bowed by grief. Why did so many people have to be killed? Why did so many people have to lose their beloved? Nobody could understand.

Terrorism is evil and should never be forgiven, however is that what America should do to make war for revenge? Is that just we can do to support the war? Revenge only produces more deaths, sorrows and hatred, and will result in another revenge attack. ItÕs not justice to kill innocent people for revenge. We can talk instead of making war. We can know each other instead of killing each other. We can live by understanding and respecting each other instead of hating each other. We should remind ourselves that we are the ones living together on this earth.

Eriko Ikura: 11th September 2001

Do you know what happened on September 11th? I was in Universal Studios in Florida when the Taliban attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in New York. Also, on October 8th, America started to attack Afghanistan. It means that the war has started.

I wonder why people in Afghanistan donÕt hand bin Laden over to America. If they did so, America and Afghanistan might have to cause a war, and then lots of people would have not died. Also America need not have been on worse terms with Afghanistan than now.

The Taliban have to think over again what they are doing now, and they may hand bin Laden over to America. The war might finish and they could live again as before.

When war breaks out, every time I think that people should not attack children, women, old people or unrelated people. This time I also think so, because children, women, old people or other people are unrelated to the war. They were just born in that country, and grew up there. Only that! Children have a big future by getting older. Thatfs why I think that America and Afghanistan donft have to involve people who are unrelated to the war.

They should have thought and talked each other more deeply before they started war. I think there is better way to settle an argument without military power or war. I hope that the Taliban will hand over bin Laden to America soon for all people, and then they have to talk each other until both of them will be happy. I know, however, itÕll be really difficult, because the Taliban has killed lots of people in America. Nevertheless I want them to do it soon.

Chigusa Itatani: Terrorists

Now, if I turn on the TV, there is a terrorist problem.

I suggest America should stop to attack Afghanistan. If America continue to attack Afghanistan, there would be lots of victims and destruction of the city by air attack. These days, it is decreasing nature from the earth, so we should protect the environment from destruction. From this, America should have found Osama bin Laden before they started the war. Another reason is that it causes a vicious circle because if America attacked Afghanistan, what would happened next is Afghanistan would attack America. It is too late after they made a lot of victims.

On the other hand Afghanistan should receive America's opinion. Afghanistan stick to their opinion stubbornly, even almost countries support America. Afghanistan should have a discussion with America, and clear up misunderstanding.

In conclusion, what should America do is to protect their country not to attack Afghanistan, and find Osama bin Laden and terrorists. And Afghanistan should have a discussion with America with preserve their calmness.

Eri Ishimaru: Terrorism in America

On September 11th, the terrorists who might be the Al Qaeda attacked America. It was terrible because they hijacked planes and attacked the world trade center buildings and crashed into them on purpose.

I do not understand why some terrorists sacrificed their lives. Also I do not know they terror or not. It must be impossible to avoid death.

There were also hundreds of victims at that time. I feel sorry for people who died because of the terrorists attacks. They were not only people who were in the world trade center buildings, but also people who went there to rescue the victims like the police or firemen.

This terrorism influenced the world economy. The Stocks declined, people lost their jobs and so on. I think America should not get revenge or stimulate the Taliban too much because if America does, the Taliban might attack America more or it would begin war. I know it is not Afghanistan that America attacked, it is the terrorists. However, the movements for anti-America are taken place around the world.

I think most people do not want to start the war. I hope that the world would be returned to peace without delay.

Yumi Kuroda: My thinking about terrorist attacks

Bin Laden said it's a sacred war against the U.S. but this statement was strange.

At September 11th, terrorist attacks happened. There were many victims and this caused war between U.S. and the Taliban.

I'm scared and sad now because terrorist attacks made a large amount of victims, about 5000 people died when airplanes crushed into the WTC (World Trade Center). Al Qaeda suggested they had more plans, I thought that it's just terrorist threats.

Next I agree with the U.S. taking reciprocal action over terrorist attacks against terrorists however the target is not civilians but bin Laden and the terrorists because civilians are not related to the terrorists. This war's perpose is only about removing terror from humankind.

Finally, I don't want this war to continue for a long time because the war causes only destruction. I think more and more victims are caused by this war if it's long - running.

I think that terrorist attacks are wrong choice if bin Laden has any reason to do terrorist attacks. It caused only war which is a crime against humanity.

In conclusion, terrorist attacks are not equal to a sacred war - it's just terror for the world and humankind.

Emi Ota: Terrorist Attacks

On September 11. The World Trade Center was attacked by terrorists. This case made people around the world angry and sorrowful. Many people in these buildings were killed and others are still lost.

When I heard about this news for the first time, I felt angry and sorrowful, too. And when the U.S. began to attack, I agreed with the U.S. because this case made the world upset.

But, now, I do not think like that. I have watched a lot of Muslims who are unrelated to the Taliban on TV. Afghan children do not experience life without war. The war had continued when they were born so they felt the war was ordinary. I felt very sorry for them. They can not get enough education and receive wrong information.

This war still continues. I did not expect like this -I thought the Taliban would surrendered soon. If the U.S. kept this condition, the war would not end. I think the U.S. should change their lines. This problem is difficult because this is involved religious problem. But if the U.S. continues to attack, more and more people would feel hostail against America and condition would get worse.

In conclusion, I believe that more war make people more unhappily so the U.S. should change their lines.

Yukari Ikeda: Terrorism

I shall never forget the terrorism because it happened just two hours before my 20th birthday.

On September 11th, a plane hit the World Trade Center building that is located in New York. It was the beginning of terrorism.

The leader of terrorism is Osama bin Laden and he is hiding in Afghanistan, now. The United States decided to retaliate against him because many innocent people were killed by him.

Finally, the United States started the war on October 8th. Many innocent people who live in Afghanistan are still dying every day.

In my opinion, both countries should notice that they are making big mistake that is to make war. Because many people die though they do not need to die. Also Osama bin Laden should not hide in Afghanistan anymore. He should apologize and confess about why he did terrorist attacks to the United States as soon as possible.

This war is NOT necessary!

Haruki Takayama: Peace Talks

When I heard the terrorism news first, I couldn't believe that. I thought it was like a movie scene as if two planes crashed into the buildings. But they were real incidents.

I thought it was accidents with some trouble, but I learned that it was terrorism by terrorists, According the news. I was very nervous, for it was terrible circumstances around the W.T.C.

The news was conveyed the tragic news about victims, lost jobs, economic influence on TV and we also recognized the facts that this terrorism was connected with religion groups. After all, U.S identified Osama bin Laden as the terrorist's leader of September 11 attacks.

In conclusion, it is very important for us to talk peace in any case. I think that it was not war, but should talk peace from watching the news N.Y citizens cooperated with fireman in helping the victims.

Taishi Ishizuka: American Affair

About a month ago, Afghanistan terrorists attacked the American Trade Center buildings by hijacked airplane and America took up arms in revenge. People have different ideas about whether revenge is a good or bad idea to keep peace.

To keep peace and to avoid World War, America should not attack Afghanistan. If America takes reprisals, America would be attacked again and continue to be attacked for a long time.

If Bin Laden does not have something to do with this affair, he should come out and say something to us. People need his comments that he has responsibilities or not.

More meetings are needed between America and Afghanistan. President Bush said "No negotiation." I know American feelings however, this statement is only making the situation worse.

In this affair to prevent war and to keep peace, America should not make a reprisal and America should have a lot of meetings to think the solutions.

Yukie Ishida: The terrible terrorist attacks

The terrorist attacks happened in the U.S. in September. The airplane that was hijacked lunged toward the World Trade Center in New York. It is said that the leader of the terrorist attacks is Osama bin Laden.

I couldnÕt believe my eyes when I saw this terrorist attack on the T.V. at first. It was terrible. They attacked center of the U.S, and many people were killed. It changed the world situation. Everyone is full of fear.

The U.S. started aerial bombing in Afghanistan. I donÕt think reprisal is a good way. It will kill more people - even more people who didnÕt do anything. Also I think reprisals canÕt stop terrorism, and what is worse, the terrorists may attacks the U.S. again. If they do so, the victims would increase more. Force isn't the only solution to terrorism.

IÕm very afraid of this war. The war is cruel and horrible. It is not only a problem between the U.S. and Afghanistan. Some countries entered the war, and also Japan supported the U.S. So it will be a world problem. I wonder when the war will end. I donÕt want it to be long.

In conclusion, this terrorist attack was bad. Though it is very difficult to stop terrorism, the war is not good. I donÕt want to see more victims and I hope the war will end soon.

Ayumi Iwakura: For World Peace

I was very surprised to here the news of terrorist attacks in America, and felt sad. I don't know why the terrorists used violence. The general public have no blame. This incident is a worldwide problem.

Actually, many innocent people were involved in the terrorist attacks, and a lot of people died. About 5000 people are still missing.

Moreover, we are hurting from the economic danage. The prices of stocks are falling all over the world, and airline companies went bankrupt. I think there is no benefit to use violence. America also used violence. They retaliated against Afganistan. I think it is not good way to solve the problem. This retaliation made more victims.

I heard that a severe winter is coming soon in Afganistan, so their life will get worse. Many people will die from hunger. But America is continuing to bomb.

In conclusion, we must not do armed clash. Many innocent people were involved these terrorisy attacks. We have to understand each other without use of violence.

Yuji Akiyama: We should be cool!!

On Sep 11th, 2 planes hit the W.T.C. in N.Y. and 1 plane hit the Pentagon in Washington D.C.. As you know, New York had been the center of world economy. That is to say, American pride and world peace were broken at the same time. As soon as they were hit, U.S. president Bush said, ŅOsama bin Laden must be the criminal. We don't give in to terrorism. This accident is a declaration of war.Ó After his meeting, the world (including Japan) supposed his opinion. Also, they called their revenge war Ņnoble eagle.Ó Lately, their attack for Afghanistan has started. These days, I think the U.S.A. is a boring country. Why are American so crazy for war?? She have the duty to improve quickly. In the world, there are many people who need American's help.

After Sep 11th, our idea about religion has changed. I was very surprised at their loyalty for Musulim and their mather countory. Lately we almost all forgot neither of them. So I couldn't understand their loyalty. We have despised all Muslims for their own region. That is to say, we have been attempted to regard Muslims as bin Laden. For example, innocent Muslims were killed in U.S.A..

When the war started, there were an evil without expections like Japan and Germany and Italy in W.W.2. That is to say, we know only the justice (maybe) American side aspect of war. In spite of this fact, Prime Minister Koizumi spoke for almost Japanese attitude about U.S.A. and suggested Japan send the Self-Defense Forces to Afghanistan for the pupose of supporting U.S.A.. We should have disucussed. We should have thought the mean of Show the Flag honestly.

We are Japanese. However, aren't we too obedient to the West. We should have the Yamato-Soul. I hate western thinking. They don't know the word ŅWhen in Rome, do as the Romans do.Ó They are very selfish. Of course, they are not all like that. But people I have met are very selfish. In spite of, living in Japan, they don't respect our thinking. So I hate western thinking. Of course, I have people I respect. I hope Koizumi calm him down and tkink by Japanese own idea. Nobody on the earth wants the war.

But everyone in the world is very crazy for war. We are thinking about revenge for Sep 11th. Hate makes only hate not happiness like Israel. Now we should help people. We should help people who don't live a life enough. We should help innocent Afghan people not kill them. I don't want to watch war TV much more and increase victims. This Afghan war is very ridiculous. We should calm our minds down!!
