  1972 works, but is 1973 == 2001? Lots of equipment doesn't go back
that far. In general, during the 20th century, the calendar repeats
every 12 years. If you take into account the very strange results for
leap years (1900 and 2100 are not leap years, nor is the year 4000,
but 2000 is), then 12 doesn't work.
  So, you can also pick 1988.
