69. オーストラリア国立大学で8月3日に「イントレピッドの４人」についてのセミナー （99/07/24）

　上智大学の寺田勇文教授から以下のようなメールをいただきました。それによると、8月3日に、オーストラリア、キャンベラのオーストラリア国立大学で、イントレピッドの4人についての研究発表のせみなーがあるそうです。以下にそのお便りを転載します。

いつも藤本さんについてのメールをありがとうございます。（吉川注――このメールとは、旧べ平連関係者で、藤本義一さんをご存知の方に、吉川が藤本さんの病状についての報告を「藤本情報」として、メールでおおくりしているもので、すでに7月24日で第24号がおくられています。ご希望の方には、e-mail アドレスを教えてくだされば、今後配信します。）　毎回拝読しております。私はお茶の水の事務所に出入りするようになったのが、1968年の11月で、1970年の４月以後は大学に入り京都に移ってしまいましたので、藤本さんを直接に存じ上げているわけではありません。たぶんお話をしたこともないと思います。しかし、清水谷公園でのデモの時など、帽子をかぶっていつも参加されていたことはよく覚えております。
　さて、キャンベラのオーストラリア国立大学で来月初めにベ平連運動、とくに脱走兵運動についての研究発表があるようですので、そのセミナーの案内をお送りします。

　また、上の英文では、べ平連名の英訳が「the Citizens Federation for Peace in Vietnam」となっていますが、実際、当時、べ平連が使っていた英文名称は、Ｊａｐａｎ　”Ｐｅａｃｅ　for Ｖｉｅｔｎａｍ！”　Comittee でした。また、最初の脱走兵が海兵隊員となっていますが、これは空母「イントレピッド」号乗り組みの水兵でした。これらの事実関係については、同セミナーのほうに、メールで通知しました。（吉川）
