About the Author: Kenichi Takagi



Attorney Takagi has been organizing and promoting the International Forum of Postwar Compensation for the Asia-Pacific Region, and annual comference starting from 1991, for the realization of compensation to individual war victims.

Born in 1944 to a Japanese family in North China, Takagi graduated Law School at Tokyo University in 1970. He has become deeply involved in the postwar compensation issue through his experience in suing the Government of Japan on behalf of Koreans who were left in Sakhalin on Japan's withdrawal from the island at the end of the Second World War.

He has authored may books, including Sakhalin and Japan's Postwar Compensation (1990), Military Comfort Women and Postwar Compensation (1992), and The Question of Korean Atomic-Bomb Victims (1988).
