Tired of Being Used?
@
Think back: what was it you signed up for?
Maybe you signed up because you thought your country was in danger, and you wanted to help defend it.
Maybe you signed up to learn a trade.
Maybe you signed up because there wasn't any other job.
Maybe you signed up because it just felt honorable and patriotic.
@
Probably you didn't sign up because you thought, "Oh, boy, I want to help the U.S. dominate the whole world!"
@
Well, how do things look now?
The people who command the U.S. military, namely the group of civilian ultraconservatives who control the government, are determined to send you into war after war.
@
They invaded Afghanistan because (they said) that was the only way to catch Osama bin Laden who (they said) was the man behind the 9/11 attacks.@Lots of people got killed, but Osama bin Laden was not found.
@
They invaded Iraq because (they said) Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction that threatened the security of the U.S. Lots of people got killed, but no weapons of mass destruction have been found. As the war made clear, Iraq was never a threat to U.S. security.
@
Now they are debating where to invade next.@Syria?@Iran?@North Korea?@Or?
@
With every invasion plan, the reason changes.@What, exactly, are these people up to?@If you feel that it wasn't to invade country after country that you signed up for military service, if you feel that you are tired of being used, then you should know that there are people who can help you.
@
If you can no longer in good conscience participate in these meaningless wars, want information about early discharge or other GI rights, call GI RIGHTS, +1 800 394 9544/+1 215 563 4620.@The opinions expressed in this leaflet are not necessarily those of the GI RIGHTS HOTLINE.@The HOTLINE contact is offered as a resource for GIs.

BUSH LIED - US OUT OF IRAQ NOW!
Bush said on September 12, 2002: "Right now, Iraq is expanding and improving facilities that were used for the production of biological weapons." BRING THE TROOPS HOME - HOW?
Politicians claiming to be on your side are blowing a lot of smoke. GIs GET KILLED, STOCKS GO UP - RICH BASTARDS WIN AGAIN

WORDS FROM THE FRONTLINES

"If you asked the soldiers, they'd be ready to go home . . . They're torn up over throwing old ladies and kids out [of their houses]."
Maj. Brian Pearl, 101st Airborne

"I think our welcome's worn out. We don't even get that fake wave anymore. They just stare." Lt. Tom Garner, 4th Infantry Division.

"We're more angry at the generals who are making these decisions and who never hit the ground, and who don't get shot at or have to look at the bloody bodies and the burnt out bodies and the dead babies and all that kinda stuff." Spc. Anthony Costello, 3rd Infantry Division.

"The way we have been treated and the continuous lies told to our families back home has devastated us all". Anonymous soldier in a letter to the US Congress.

"There is no real reason for us to be out here!! We're protecting oil is all, and as far as the supposed war ending, it hasn't." Pfc. Mary Yahne, 4th Infantry Division.

"If Donald Rumsfeld was here, I'd ask him for his resignation." Spc. Clinton Deitz, 3rd Infantry Division.
