| Preparatory Meeting for Launching a Workshop on International
Regulations within the context of Socio-Economy of Solidarity in an era
of neo-liberal globalization
Since Seattle in 1999, huge demonstrations against the G8 / other Summits
as well as the international organizations such as the IMF / World Bank,
and WTO have taken places in opposing neo-liberal globalization that promotes
maximum profits for big transnational corporations.
On the other hand, people at the grass roots, have been carried out solidarity
socio-economy, such as cooperatives, mutuals, non-profit organizations,
social money, micro-credits, fair trade movements, that promotes solidarity
between peoples.
This meeting in Tokyo will be a first attempt to dialog between leaders
of anti-neoliberal globalization movements and those who have been involved
in the solidarity socio-economy movements.
