Just a note on Kuni's suggestion "c" regarding making the IMF subject to financial penalties for its disastrous advice: this has been one of the eight demands constituting the platform of the 50 Years Is Enough Network since 2000 (see http://www.50years.org/about/#top). We make the same demand of the World Bank (and even suggest privatizing the IFC to raise funds for the effort). We refer to these payments as "reparations," which may not be the best term to entice legal activists to take up the case.
