Welcome to the JANN website. JANN is a network of Japanese NGOs that work in Afghanistan.

JANN Mission
To improve access within Japan − especially within the Japanese NGO community − to information and analysis on Afghan peace-building. To undertake research on relevant policy issues and to channel research findings into the policy-making arena. Furthermore, to coordinate and encourage a climate of information-sharing and debate regarding issues relating to Afghan peace-building.

On this website you will find a variety of information in both Japanese and English.

JANN produces a 2-page briefing every month, with the latest information on major security incidents, Security Sector Reform, political developments, issues relating to Afghan reconstruction, and other useful information - such as announcements of new publications by Afghan and international researchers. The website also hosts a database of relevant publications. For many of these publications, we also provide a Japanese translation of either the whole report or the executive summary.

The Occasional Papers page presents backgrounders, opinion pieces and papers that are produced from within the JANN network.

JANNの使命
日本国内、特に日本のNGOコミュニティーにおけるアフガニスタン平和構築に関する情報と分析へのアクセスを改善する。重要な政策点についての調査を引き受け、その調査の結果を政策決定領域へと方向づける。さらに、アフガニスタン平和構築に関する議論と情報共有の環境を整備し、促進する。

このウェブサイトでは、様々な情報を日本語と英語両方で読むことが出来ます。

JANNは毎月、重要な治安事件、治安分野改革(SSR),政治上の進展、アフガン復興に関する問題点の最新の情報に加え、アフガンもしくは国際研究所が新しく出版した報告書などといった有益な情報を含んだ２ページのブリーフィングを作成します。 最新：　２００７年６月

重要な出版物のデータベースもこのウェブサイトに掲載されています。これらの出版物の多くは、そのすべて、もしくは概要を日本語訳し、掲載します。

‘Occasional Papers’ のページにおいては、JANNネットワークにおいて作成されたブリーフィング、意見書、報告書などを提供します。
