60% of Britons consider Bush threat to world peace

A opinion poll carried out by the Sunday Times has revealed that 60% of the people participating in the poll think that George Bush is a threat to world peace and do not want him in the United Kingdom, despite the statement by Tony Blair that there could not be a "better moment" for the visit.

Declaring that he was not worried about the thousands of protesters who are determined to show to the world that the British people are against the war in Iraq, despite the position taken by the government, George Bush once again mixed the question of Iraq with September 11th in the same breath:

"I would hope you understand that I have learned the lessons of September the 11th, 2001, and that terrorists declared war on the United States of America and war on people that love freedom, and I intend to lead our nation - along with others, like our close friends in Great Britain - to win this war on terror", he declared on the BBC TV programme, Breakfast with Frost. It is this type of discourse, linking the government of Iraq to September 11th, when George Bush himself has declared that there has been no link found, and declaring that Iraq's WMD were a threat to world peace, when none existed, that have turned the British people against this war and against George Bush.

He is not welcome and the majority of British people feel passionately that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, and President George Bush cheated the world with their trumped-up and false evidence for a war against Iraq, in which tens of thousands of innocent people have died. The opinion poll speaks volumes about the feeling among the British public,
who want to make it perfectly clear to the world that there is a difference between the position of the government and that of the people.
