O Introduction to the Osori village

The Osori village is located in Nishiizu, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture. The area is a mountainous region stretching to the Amagi Mountain. At the foot of the mountains, the Nishina river is located. A bus going down river to the town of Nishina is only the one mode of public transportation. The former primary industries were agriculture and forestry, however, nowadays, just a few people cultivate cherry leaves used to wrap a bean-paste rice-cake (called "sakuramochi"), shiitake mushroom and wasabi (Japanese green mustard). As geographical features of the Osori village are severe, you could see plenty of nature's treasures. Even today, you can find Kusaichigo (grass strawberry), seaweed crabs, yams, wasabi, edible wild plants, eels, trout, akebis, tree ears. There is an eating club tentatively named, 'Let's eat Nishiizu!' In addition to the above natural food, they can eat products around the village, such as mackerel, dolphin's sauce, and strawberries.

The age of people in the Osori village is advancing, like other villages. In such an environment, there is a group who tries to activate the area, so as not to be beaten by other mountain villages. A group called "Doumu (Child Dream)" is holding events, such as "Catch a fish by hands" every year.

O Chronology of "KUSAICHIGO Internet Version" (until the commencement of the home page)

The idea of "KUSAICHIGO Internet Version" came about at the gathering at Kasao & Matukawa's house on December 28, 1995.

The draft of the "KUSAICHIGO Internet Version" is patterned after "KUSAISHIGO nation-wide circulation newsletter". This circulation newsletter had the same objectives as the "KUSAICHIGO Internet Version", by PC subscription service communications. However, the idea didn't come about, but the concept has been followed up by the "KUSAICHIGO Internet Version".
