戦車に対して貫通力のある砲弾を主に使っている。その製造過程において、砲弾の

I just received the transcript of yesterdays NATO briefing in DC from
reporter Sam Husseini of the Institute for Public Accuracy.
Sam asked: The military question I had for your military colleague:
Is
depleted uranium being used by NATO forces, sir?
Col. Freytag: We use ammunition against tanks, mainly, which have
certain
penetration capability. And in the production process of these
ammunitions, there is depleted uranium we use to harden this ammunition.
And that's--
Q: (off mike) Is that a yes?
Col. Freytag: No, it's not a yes. When you think that that
would be a
kind of mini nuclear weapon, then that would be a clear no. It
is a
production way in which mainly the United States produce ammunition
for the
A-10.
Mr. Shea: Okay, lets move on. The lady--
Col. Freytag: It's not radioactive at all.

I can confirm that while watching the NATO briefing on C-SPAN (4/26/99)
I
watched a reporter ask NATO spokesman Mr. Shea if DU weapons were being
used. Shea deferred to the NATO military man by his side (this
time a
German officer) who admitted that DU weapons were being used but he
went on
to say that they were not "radioactive".
I think this should be evidence enough.
