[keystone 2946] に転載した沖縄県ホ−ムページ英語版の問題ですが、多くの人
からの要請が功を奏し、８月に入って大幅に増補されたようです。その件についての
レッドカード・ムーブメントからのメールを転載します。
ただ僕が個人的に思うには、必ずしも喜べない改訂ではないかと思います。
今回は日本語版も改訂されているようで（ログを保存したわけではないので、正確
には未確認です）、英語版はそれをそのまま英文にして掲載したものになっています
。その内容は、「沖縄県の米軍基地は、日米安全保障条約の下で日本及びアジア地域
の平和と安全を守るために置かれていると認識しています」「本県に所在する広大な
米軍基地が、日本及びアジア地域の平和と安全のために必要であることは、現在の国
際政治の現実であります」などと、稲嶺県政の宣伝のような内容です。
今度は、量の問題よりも、内容自体に注文を付けていく必要があるのではないでし
ょうか。
この今回の要請に加えて、再度、このページへの「評価」も、メールをする必要を
感じます。

朗報！
サイバーアクションが沖縄県庁のホームページ英語版を変えました！
レッドカード・ムーブメントのサイバーアクションにご協力してくださり、有難うご
ざいました。
本日８月９日３時に、沖縄県庁オンブズマンに電話をし、県庁ホームページ英語版に
沖縄戦と米軍基地問題の記述を加えることを再度要請したところ、ホームページに加
筆されました。
世界各国の方々から沖縄県知事宛に真摯なＥメールが届いた事と、沖縄の地元二大紙
が経過を注目したため、県庁も無視できないと判断したので、敏速に改良したのでし
ょう。
最初、海外からのアクセスが多くなる、サミットの一週間前に、電話でオンブズマン
を通して要請した時には、記載の変更の予定はない、との返答しか得られませんでし
た。そこで、サイバーアクションを起こした訳ですが、幸いにも多くの方々のご協力
を得る事ができ、今回の改良に結びつきました。一人の力では無視される事でも、沢
山の力が集まれば様々な事が良い方向に向かうのだと言う事を、皆様のお蔭で確信さ
せて頂きました。

しかしながら、ウェブサイトをご覧になればすぐおわかりかと思いますが、マルチメ
ディア・アイランド構想をかかげ、世界へ平和の発信をする事を目指している沖縄県
の公式サイトとしては、極めて貧弱で、更に一層の改良をしなければなりません。広
島市や長崎市のホームページのように更に多くのリンクも必要です。又、情報やデー
タも古いものであり、更新の必要に迫られています。(英語のスペルミスも多々見ら
れます。）
沖縄県庁の平和推進課は、ホームページと言う、平和発信の強力なツールを駆使する
為に一層の努力を期待されています。

Red Card Movement "Cyber Action" Worked!
We appreciate those who sent e-mail to our Governor of Okinawa Prefecture.
We are pleased to announce that we moved Okinawa Prefectural Office
to
improve their homepage which now has lots of information on US Base
issue
and the Battle of Okinawa. It was this afternoon, when we called up
the
ombudsman at Okinawa Prefectural Office to find out whether they are
working
to improve their official web site. Since you have sent many e-mail
requests
to them from all over the world, we know that they can no longer ignor
our
request.
Now you can check it up the contents, if it is efficient.

We called them up first time, the ombudsman a week before G8-Summit
in
Okinawa because we know that the oversea visitors would visit its homepage
before the Summit. However, they said that there is no plan to improve
their
homepage. Therefore we started Cyber Action and your sincere co-operation
by
sending the request through e-mail resulted this improvement of the
job on
the prefectural governent site. Aside from that we must mention that
2 major
newspapers on Okinawa monitor this matter; therefore, they made a quick
reaction.
Unfortunately, the information on their homepage is not updated and
it needs
to have further improvement. The recent problems from U.S. military
bases,
such as the accidents, crimes, environmental destructions, and so on
are not
included. They also should offer more links to other homepages to provide
more sources of information and datas just like the homepages of Hiroshima
City and Nagasaki City.
Furthermore, we expect professional job on this official web site at
least
without spelling mistakes.
