=how can he predict only a recession when the oil producing countries
=are y2k compliant? this was touched on in another list. the 74
=recession was because of a 5% reduction in oil. how on earth are
=countries like Arabia and Nigeria going to produce the same amount of
=oil when they are vaugely aware of y2k and years away from being
=compliant. this society runs on energy from oil. what is going to
=happen if or when a significant amount of these countries cant supply
=the oil demand? . can someone explain why more economists and have
=not raised this issue?

I suspect its to do with the length of the supply pipeline which
would have the effect of cushioning a supply end problem, hopefully
long enough for corrective action to be taken and the shortage made
up before the impact is really felt.
