A high level panel will be held on 9 June 2000, "The Historical Journey, 25
Years of International Women's Conferences".

A historical perspective on the work done by the United Nations for women
will be given by:
    Ms. Leticia Shahani, Secretary-General of the "World Conference to
   Review and Appraise the Achievements of the United Nations Decade for
   Women: Equality, Development and Peace", Nairobi, 1985.
   Ms. Gertrude Mongella, Secretary-General of the "Fourth World Conference
   on Women", Beijing, 1995.

The panel will take place on Friday, 9 June 2000, 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in
Conference Room 3. Members of Delegations, Representatives of NGOs, Media
and United Nations staff are invited to attend.
