This is regarding the registration deadline information. IWTC is following up with DAW on the deadline they sent us. Luz Message from Anne Walker The cut-off date came as a surprise to all of us I can assure you. We peppered the DAW and UN reps at yesterday's meeting about this. It apparently only concerns the orgs who do not have consultative status mind you, i.e. the orgs that were accredited to the Fourth World Conf in Beijing and have applied for consultative status. All orgs who have consultative status (ECOSOC) are just asked to let DAW (and CONGO) know that you are coming. So send an email to Koh Miyaoi <koh.miyaoi@un.org>) and just inform her of the names of the women that are coming. And you can send 7 names...so add some names of people from other parts of the region who may have missed out. Women can do that with any group that has consultative status, by just saying that they will be representing that group.The UN cannot stop groups with consultative status from paricipating at UN meetings. I'll try and get more news outmore speedily in the coming weeks.
