Subject: $20 000 SCHOLARSHIPS IN WOMEN'S HUMAN RIGHTS & REQUEST FOR FEEDBACK
--

Dear Friends,

We are pleased to inform you of two graduate fellowships available at the
University of Toronto's Faculty of Law available to individuals from
Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia or possibly Central or Eastern
Europe. The scholarships are designed to permit those who currently hold a
law degree or equivalent qualifications to pursue Master of Laws (L.L.M) or
Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D) degrees within the faculty. A Graduate
Fellowship in Women's Rights would enable a candidate to explore the legal
protection and promotion of women's human rights at national, regional or
international levels. The second scholarship, the Graduate Fellowship in
Reproductive Health Law, provides an opportunity to specifically research
the legal and ethical issues in reproductive and sexual health.

The value of each scholarship is approximately $20,000 with an additional
stipend available in conjunction with the Graduate Fellowship in
Reproductive Health Law. Deadline for applications for both fellowships is
February 1st of each year. For more information please contact the Graduate
Admissions Office at the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto
(http://www.law.utoronto.ca/grad).

Secondly, if you have not used this web site before, we would like to
introduce you to the Women's Human Rights Resources (WHRR). The WHRR is an
online resource centre on international women's rights produced at the
University of Toronto. The site currently contains approximately 860
entries relating to scholarly publications (some of which are in
full-text), over 550 links to essential documents such as international
conventions, NGO reports, case law, and national legislation that
incorporates international law, and over 390 links to the sites of United
Nations agencies, NGO's, universities and government that provide
information important for human rights research and advocacy. We are
working to ensure that all key documents and publications will soon be
available in full text format. The Women's Human Rights Resources site is
located at http://www.law-lib.utoronto.ca/diana.

We value your input. If you have used the site, we would greatly appreciate
your feedback. Do you find the site accessible and easy to use? Does it
have the information you are looking for in the area of international
women's human rights? Please e-mail [whrr.outreach@utoronto.ca] with your
comments.

You may also receive information from us in a few weeks about the Women's
Human Rights Resources Electronic Newsletter listserv. The purpose of this
listserv is to update you on new materials that have been added to the WHRR
web site and to allow members to share information that they have produced
in the area of international women's human rights.

We look forward to hearing from you and ask that you please pass this
message on to anyone else that may be interested.

Thank you,

Shazia Razzaque
WHRR Outreach Coordinator
